Aspergers Spectrum!

The MKW thread about Aspergers are so full of ignorant people, i don't even know what to do about it...

"Oh i pity the children going through that"

"I know someone who have Autism"

"They sure have some problems in life"

"I would like to help anyone with psychological problems"

And the last quote was just, enough for me to go insane myself, everyone on the forums is just talking and speaking about it, like it was one single disastrous sickness, and that they're trying to find a cure for it, i'm sorry, but i don't want people trying to Pity me for a few reasons, it makes me believe they think i'm weaker because of my social handicap, wich i'm not entirely...

Any thoughts about this?

I guess people are trying to help, but obviously to someone directly affected by Aspergers (such as yourself), don't see it this way. Maybe you should let them know if it really bothers you.

I did, but they came up with more excuses like "oh i knew someone who wasn't like this" and more and more excuses that sooner or later didn't make sense...

It's not easy making people understand how you feel, when they talk about other people but themselves
